Turquoise Metal Wheat Dish- Pyrex

Let me just say...When I saw this dish at a yard sale today...I was more than excited.  Then I asked the price and could hardly contain myself.  TWO DOLLARS!  I recently saw one selling for around $70 on Ebay.   I love a good deal! :-) Sorry for the bad cell phone picture, I will post more later!  Now time to make room on the shelf!

Monday Monday

Today was a cloudy day, but I found the two sunny yellow pieces!  The cute Lipton Sun Tea pitcher and the bright yellow Pyrex bowl.  Still trying to figure out what set it goes with.

I also found this awesome milk glass coffee mug.  I believe it was made by Hazel Atlas??  I just love the fact that it says "NAG!" on it.  Fabulous!

Atlanta Thrift

I visited my sister in Atlanta over the holiday weekend.  On Saturday we went thrifting.  Here are some of my finds that are up for sale on my Etsy!

Cute set of milk glass coffee mugs

I found these great LE SMITH goblets, moon and star.  I picked them up just because I liked them and later did research to find out what they were!

My sister picked these up thrifting before I got there.  I have given here the thrifting bug!  Cute set of Pyrex butterfly gold casserole dishes.

Cute orange sun tea jar!

Sour Cream Update

I recently blogged about reading an article in Martha Stewart about collecting sour cream glasses(Link).  I never thought I would find one...but I blogged about my first yellow one and now I found another!  My birthday was last week and I went antique shopping in Landrum, NC.  On the way I passed this farm house with these two old guys having a yard sale (by the way it was Thursday).   I got this glass for 25 cents!

I was very dirty but cleaned up great!  I also had a very long conversation with the two old men about tattoos.  They liked my Rosie and told me they wanted woody the wood pecker, and the other one wanted a monkey with a lawn mower shaving the chest hair off his chest!

And this was my birthday present to myself...

Apple Pickin'

Last week my family went to an Apple Orchard in Morganton, NC.  We picked about 6 bushels of apples mostly for my sister to make apple sauce.  Its such a beautiful place and the apples are very easy to pick!

And of course I put my apples on display in my Spring Blossom Pyrex Bowl! :-)

Claustrophobic

This is the line form the estate sale I went to this afternoon.  I was number 74 in line.  This sale was advertised online and they had one snow flake Pyrex in one of the photos.  I figured it would be gone by the time I even got in the front door.  They let all 100 or so people lined up in the house all at once needless to say it was crowed in there!  As quickly as I could, I made my way to the kitchen and almost knocked over a little old lady...but I got my Pyrex! :-)

This is probably my new favorite piece!

Name:  Snow Flake
Type:  Casserole Dish
Year:  1957

I also picked up these two magazines.  Home furnishing guide form 1967 and the Carolina Co-Operator from 1943!

Estate Sales

I went to two estate sales this morning, they were both on the last day of the sale...soooo...everything was 50% off!!!  I found this retro night stand for $20.  I may paint it, but I think I might just leave the original finish.
At the next sale I found these Pyrex mixing bowls.  $3 for both.

Name:  Early American
Type:  Nesting Mixing Bowls
Year:  1961

There is a third 2.5 quart mixing bowl that goes with this set.  I hope to find it soon!

Pyrex Lover

My newest love in life is collecting vintage Pyrex!  I have only been collecting for a few months now and have found many pieces at thrift stores.  I found two today and wanted to share!
On the left is a lemonade carafe and on the right is the Town and Country oval divided serving dish from the 1960's which comes in several different color combinations.   I got the both for $5.50!!
